How To Make Healthy Smoothies for Parties


Are you preparing snacks for your teen get-together? Or how about breakfast after a night of fun sleepovers for your girls and friends? I was recently a host for six girlfriends of my 14 year old child and breakfast was starting to be a problem until I remembered an article in a health and food blog that talked about how to make healthy smoothies for kids of all ages! With that article printed and in hand, I was able to satisfy 7 girls with breakfast and sunrise smoothie. And it was all so easy. Here’s how I did it.

First, I knew that they wanted pancakes. I was ready for that. So I had fresh strawberries and blueberries all washed and ready for my pancakes. What I did next was instead of using the fruits for pancakes, I made chocolate swirl pancakes instead and used the fruits for smoothies.

How to make healthy smoothies begins with assembling all my ingredients. Out came the blender and nice tall tumblers and straws. Then the ice and skim milk. Then my main ingredients for my healthy sunrise smoothies. I made 3 batches and it gave me 3 glass carafes of my blender. Per batch of smoothie: slice up 4 bananas, add 1 cup of blueberries and 1 cup of strawberries. If the strawberries are big, slice in half. Add 1 1/2 cups of orange juice (freshly squeezed or no pulp). Then add skim milk and yogurt and fill with ice cubes. Blend for a few seconds to a minute until smooth. Transfer to tumblers. It was so easy!
